Description
Specimen consists of an enlarged ovary 6.5 cm in maximum extension. The ovary has been
completely replaced by extensive haemorrhage. A residual follicular cyst also containing
haemorrhage is seen towards one edge. Attached to the ovary is a portion of fallopian tube. The
features are those of acute haemorrhagic infarction of the ovary secondary to tortion.
